Supplier Code of Conduct

Expectations for the people and organisations supplying parts, materials, labour and services for WAB’s work.

Scope and shared responsibility

This code sets expectations for suppliers, subcontractors, agents and labour providers engaged by WAB. They must follow applicable requirements, explain relevant expectations to their personnel and pass them to subcontractors involved in WAB work. Requirements and checks should reflect the nature and risks of the supply or service.

Integrity and commercial conduct

Do not offer or request bribes, kickbacks or unofficial facilitation payments. Disclose conflicts of interest and do not use gifts to influence decisions. Keep truthful invoices and records, compete fairly and protect information received through the relationship. Do not claim WAB’s approval, certification or endorsement without authorisation. These expectations complement WAB’s Business Ethics & Anti-Bribery policy.

People and employment

Prohibit modern slavery, forced labour, trafficking and child labour. Work must be voluntary, without recruitment fees charged to workers or retention of original identity documents. Verify the applicable minimum age and keep anyone under 18 away from hazardous work. Provide fair treatment, lawful pay, hours and rest, and respect freedom of association and collective bargaining. Prevent harassment, discrimination and retaliation against those raising concerns.

Safety and environmental care

Assess relevant work risks and provide competent supervision, safe equipment and suitable protection. Coordinate site rules and emergency arrangements with WAB before starting work. Handle fuels, oils, batteries and other potentially harmful materials safely; prevent spills and arrange lawful waste handling. Report incidents connected with WAB work promptly and cooperate in preventing recurrence.

Parts, specifications and traceability

Supply against agreed specifications and accurately describe the manufacturer, origin, condition and compatibility of parts. Identify used, repaired or refurbished items before agreement. Do not supply counterfeit goods, substitute items without agreement or describe a part as an original manufacturer’s product without support. Provide relevant product and safety information and available evidence of origin. Notify WAB promptly of suspected defects, substitutions or safety concerns.

Checks, concerns and improvement

Cooperate with reasonable, proportionate requests for information and agreed checks. WAB will prioritise significant risks and discuss corrective action where concerns arise. Workers and others may use WAB’s designated reporting arrangements without retaliation. Serious or unresolved breaches may lead to suspension or termination, subject to contract and law. Decisions must consider the safety of affected people; ending a relationship does not replace appropriate cooperation in remedying harm.
